Stuck for new entertainment ideas for your kiddies birthday party?
With two children of my own, I know what it's like trying to think up new and fun ideas for their parties each year.
Why not try something a little different....
Puppet-Stew are delighted to bring our 'famous' puppet making workshops, to you, in your home or other party venue.
Our fun and creative workshops will keep your wee ones [and not so wee!] occupied, happy and stimulated for about an hour, whilst you busy yourself with the party food etc!
Puppet -Stew will bring all our colourful bits and bobs to you, for a guaranteed unique birthday party activity, that will amuse the kids long after the party has finished.
WHAT'S INCLUDED?
An hour of stimulating puppet making fun.
All materials are supplied by Puppet-Stew to allow the kids to freely create large funky rod puppets, like the ones in the picture.... some of the materails we will bring include
pom poms, lace, ribbon, pipe cleaners, coloured donuts, goggly eyes, buttons, sequins, beads and wire, feathers, funky foam hands, moustaches, eyebrows, noses and mouths, choice of coloured puppet heads, bows, belts, flowers, stars, hearts, tinsel, multi coloured fluffy fur, holographic shapes, coloured wool hair, tape, glue, scissors and a HUGE amount of fabric.

We supply ground cover. ie tarps and/or blankets.
...and at the end of the workshop we give a wee gift and card to the party girl or boy.
REQUIREMENTS
Space required depends on the amount of children taking part. The children can either sit at a table, or on the floor, whatever suits you. Floor or table space is also required to place the materials on.
Workshops can be even be held outside, as long as it is dry, warm and not windy. You can make this decision on the day.
There needs to be at least one responsible adult on hand to assist with supervising. For larger groups, several adults will be required to make sure the kids are working safely and managing OK.....the adults are free to join in too, in fact I encourage it!
TIMESCALES
We will need about 30 minutes to set up and the same to pack away. The actual workshop will run for approximately one hour. We've found that an hour is just the right length of time before the children get desperate to play, dance and interact with their puppets (and eat party food and cake! ). Together we can work out the best time for the workshop to take place so that it fits in with any other party plans you may have [like a disco, party games, cake and food].
AGE GROUPS
Ideally ages 5 and up.....there's no upper age limit. Evening adult puppet making parties are catered for too!
From the very young, to teenagers, you'll be surprised at how enthusiastic and creative kids can be. Even older boys get stuck in and create weird and wonderful puppets.
HOW MUCH?
Please email for an exact quote and to check availability [using the Contact Us page], as prices vary depending on number of kids and location. We are based in Balfron, Stirlingshire and are happy to travel.
As a rough guide, 2008 prices are as follows. Further discounts are available for local bookings and large parties.
12 kids or less - £5 per child, plus travel
13 to 20 kids - £4 per child, plus travel
21 to 29 kids - £3 per child, plus travel
30 plus [eek!!] - £3 per child, plus travel, plus extra discounts
Minimum fee chargable [excluding travel] is £50.
Travel is charged at 50p per mile.
Workshop session is one hour. If you require extra workshop time, it will be charged at £10 per hour or part thereof.
Prices are inclusive of my pre-party preparation time.
You can pay on the day by cash or cheque, that way we can work out the exact numbers.
I am always willing to talk through your needs and requirements and hopefully we can come up with an affordable solution.
IMPORTANT INFO (ie the boring bit!)
Please note, that during the workshops we will be using glue, scissors and bamboo canes. Every care is taken by Puppet-Stew to ensure the children don't injure themselves, another child or damage their suroundings. Therefore I have to stress the importance of there being sufficient responsible adults on hand to help supervise during the workshop and to make sure all the children are safe and happy.
We will tidy up all our workshop materials at the end of the session, but it is up to the party organizers to sweep and/or vacuum at the end of their party.
After the workshop I will take some photographs of the completed puppets. These will be put onto the website, in the Gallery section, under 'Birthday Party Pics'.
